NECSP was established to educate citizens of New England and their leaders on the importance of a sustainable level of human population in New England, the United States and the world. All policies adopted by NECSP are in the service of furthering this Mission. Our mission is to raise awareness in New England of regional, national and global population and sustainability issues, and to strengthen regional action on these issues. Some things to keep in mind: - Sustainable living scenarios – regionally, domestically and internationally -- are achievable and involve population stabilization.
- Population stabilization is a means to the ends of social justice, human rights, and authentic and lasting sustainable living scenarios.
- Population stabilization can be achieved through a progressive, human-rights framework that brings about beneficial change for individuals, families, communities and nations.
- Removing barriers to family planning for all people, everywhere around the world is urgent and just.
- A sustainable population is not only a stabilized population, but a population engaging in informed, thoughtful, sustainable living practices.
