New England Coalition for Sustainable Population
|
History
NECSP was founded in 1996 by Anita King of
Williamsburg MA and operated for a decade
educating the public about the pressing need to
address the sustainable development of the planet
through stabilized population.
In 2007, NECSP was adopted by its longtime
fiscal-sponser New Hampshire Citizens for
Sustainable Population and become a stand alone
501(c)(3) in spring of 2008.
Today, NECSP enjoys membership and allies from
each New England State. We have a specialty
operating division in Massachusetts, the Slow
Growth Initiative and intend to create state
chapters in each New England State by 2010.
Our media guide was launched in June 2008 and
we expect it to be a growing resource for regional
journalists, reporters, editors and other
researchers as it developed in the years to come.
